Holiday Post: Jess & Jill of JUNCTURE

Happy Holidays, everyone! We're Jess & Jill - the ladies of JUNCTURE!

While the holiday season is a beautiful time to spend with family and friends, it can be a bit harsh on your wallet. And no matter how often we hear "It's the thought that counts!", you don't want your present to be the one that's regifted. Whether you are on a budget, getting some stocking stuffers, or doing a Secret Santa, we found 25 gifts under 25 dollars that will keep you on everyone's good list (even if you have been a bit naughty).
Thanks for taking the time to read our guest post!

I Spy DIY

IMG_2324
I went to the I Spy DIY book signing at Anderson's Books in Naperville and got to meet Jenni too! It was such a fun time as we started 2 DIY projects and made earrings and friendship bracelets on leather wrist wraps. (Check out my full blog post of this night over on Stilettos and Diaper Bags.)

I am smitten with this book and keep it on my coffee table. I constantly flip through it and think "I can make that!" So here I am getting my DIY on...

I found this project over on her site and since I had what you needed to make it already in my home, I figured I'd start with this one (no worries, I WILL be doing projects out of her book too! And yes I will share them with you ;)

You really only need 2 items, wire and 1 tool! (I used a second tool to help squeeze the wire without leaving too many marks on it.)

I followed the steps right from her website and it took me all of 5 minutes to complete this ring!

Super cute, right?! It was so fun that I had to make Kaitlyn one too! I find myself wearing this ring way too much. It probably cost all of .35 to make and like I said, just 5 minutes of my time. Jenni, you are brilliant! Love your ideas and can't wait to try more of your DIY projects.

Because We Went to a Backyard Birthday BBQ

We recently hosted/attended a 60th birthday celebration for my wonderful father at our house complete with a massive white tent, bartender, and an emotional photo slideshow of his life put together by Lisa, my brother and I. The night was just as perfect as we had pictured it - Close friends and family telling stories and memories of my dad, set to the background of a meticulously planned playlist of his favorite songs. It was so nice to not be rushing out the door for a dinner reservation - Instead, everybody we love was in one place and we were able to drink, snack and laugh into the nighttime hours.

It was a 90 degree day (my favorite kind!) which meant light summer dresses and sandals were essential:

Dress: Forever 21, Sandals: Charlotte Russe (Similar), Earrings: Francesca's (Similar)

Bracelet: Loft, Belt: Forever 21, Ring: Made by Lisa

shift dress
Dress: Threadsence, Shoes: Target, Sunnies: Michael Kors

athensjewelry
Bracelets: C/O Kristin Hassan, Ring: Self Made (I SPY DIY project)

The beautiful white tent (which I now think should be a permanent fixture in our yard)

The amazing multi-layer cake

One of the only times you'll see Lisa in flats ;)
