The Cutest Little Lace-Up Sweater

Sometimes it's the smallest detail that draws me to an item of clothing. In this case, the cutest little lace-ups on either side of the sweater were enough for me to swoon and shop. This classic staple, a cream sweater, becomes more playful and draws the eyes to the bottom. I can't wait to style this top all winter long! 

On this day, I wanted to keep the pairing as cute as the lace-up details. By pairing this sweater with skinny jeans and OTK boots, your eyes really do go to the laces. I finished my cozy look off by adding a statement jacket and a great winter hat. In the end my look was so comfortable to wear and still seemed fashionable to boot. The best of both worlds, no?

Unexpected Pairing Turned Perfect Match

In the past I have always styled this top with jean leggings and layered over it. This blouse has a high-low hem that is very extreme.
I was trying to come up with a way to style it that was different from in the past. As I reached for a black skirt, this faux brown leather number was on the same hanger and it was styling love at first sight.
The skirt was long enough to hide the longer hem of the top and the pairing seamed to be a perfect match!
I kept it very "matchy matchy" by adding a blue and brown heel that had animal print on the soles. By tossing on some great gold jewelry, it really finished the look off.

Because Lisa is a Mommy On-The-Go!

Being a mommy on-the-go is a job you must time out perfectly. My day begins with getting the kids fed and ready for school followed by about 20 minutes of suiting them up to drive. Since this winter is never ending, we layer up with snow pants, coats, mittens, scarves, hats, and boots.

I am not kidding when I tell you we have to wake up 20 minutes earlier just to get the kids ready to load in the car…it's nuts! Ah, the joys of motherhood! ;) 

After the kids are at school, this is my work and/or errands time. Shortly after they are home, it's sports, homework, reading, playing, play dates, followed by dinner prep and night routines (baths, books, bed). 

Lately, I've been enjoying keeping my look very simple. A cozy knit and skinny jeans has really become by go-to this season. It's easy, cute (well, I think it's cute) and takes me under 5 minutes to get dressed which is key.

Behind the Scenes: Fall Photo Shoot

We recently headed into the city for a Sisters Marie fall photo shoot. We worked with the very talented Neil Pili (yes, again...we love his work!) and we were thrilled with his new studio space. It's stunning with all of the exposed brick, a full (stocked) bar and comfortable yet modern seating areas (think West Elm meets Ikea).

We were also joined by a videographer (video coming soon!) who did some behind the scenes looks for us that we look forward to sharing with you.

After the shoot, we headed over to a great bridge and graffiti wall for a few impromptu photos and video clips with both gentleman. Thank you both for doing this with us in the rain and putting your lives in harms way by standing in oncoming traffic for the sake of a great picture...THAT is dedication ;)

Because Lisa HAD to Find a Top like Kaitlyn's

I recently wore an outfit on my personal blog and became obsessed with the top that was a swap from Kaitlyn. I tried to make a permanent switch with her and asked if I could have it/buy it/swap her for it but she wanted it back. BOO HISS! 

SO, I was over the moon when I saw this blouse at Macys. Same button sleeves, same collar, same sheer back....I'm one happy camper.
