Loco for Coconut Smoothies

Happy Friday, everyone! We’ve made it to the weekend once again and as with most days, we’re starting the morning off the right way with a healthy smoothie (and vat of coffee, obviously!) Plans this weekend include a Chicago Sox Game (complete with tailgating) and wine with friends so we're hoping to at least get off on the right foot here...

 A daily smoothie is our go-to method for loading up on antioxidants and vitamins, plus they taste delicious (even the green ones!) and there’s so many combinations to try to keep it from ever getting boring. One ingredient we never forget to include is coconut whether it’s milk, yogurt, flakes, etc...we’re obsessed but our new favorite is COCO5 vegan flavored coconut water. It is perfect for mixing with nuts, fruits, chia seeds, protein powder, you name it.

 BONUS - They're based out of Chicago so double points for supporting local companies :)

Here are two smoothies we made using the straight coconut flavor. This literally tasted like sunscreen in a the best way. Every time we tasted it, it felt like we should be on the beach working our (currently fake) tan...thanks Kate Somerville!
