Hair Envy

If there's one thing women are constantly indecisive about, it's our hair...Without fail, every time we're patient enough to let it grow long, we get irritated with it being "stringy" or boring so we inevitably cut it. Then 2 weeks after loving the new “short hair, don’t care” attitude, we decide we're once again ready for long, luxurious strands and can’t believe how long we have to wait…again.

We have both heard this same thing in many conversations with girlfriends so it’s good to know we’re not the only crazy hair ladies who can never feel completely content. The thing is, your hair is such a big part of your personality, much like our clothes, so it's not surprising we get the urge to change it up and keep it fresh.

So, now that a new season is upon us, it's no wonder we're both pining for a new style...a longer style, that is. We're both starting to really miss our extensions (and while we DON'T miss sleeping on them or washing them ever so carefully), the pros outweigh the few cons. Whoever said it was easier to style short hair has never had long strands...the waves, braids, buns, and more make getting up and going a breeze...especially since it's best if you wash your hair every 2-4 days.

Here are a few of our favorite Fall outfits with our long locks:

If you're ever considering extensions, read about our first experience here and what you can expect...

We had them done by Suzie who works out of Los Angeles and does a FANTASTIC job…lucky for us, she returns to the Chicago area often and is going to be in our neck of the woods sometime this October. She has asked if we know any other beautiful ladies who would be interested in trying out some luxurious locks so please email us if you want more details: sisters.marie@yahoo.com!

Going to Great Lengths

I remember the day I went to my hair dresser and told her I wanted to dye my hair black - I brought in an "inspirational" photo of Ashlee Simpson circa 'Pieces of Me.' My hair girl pretty much had the same response my Mom did when I told her the idea: Hell no. Thank God that phase was short-lived and I moved on... Once I remembered that whole "I'm Irish with pale skin and freckles" thing, jet black hair seemed a little out of the question.

11 years later and I still have not touched these locks - no dye, high lights or cuts that would make me cry (like a few of those dance up-do's back in the day). I love my natural color, especially after sun time in the summer, and I'm afraid I would never get it back.

But like most, I do get the itch to mix things up now and then so I was excited when I heard Lisa's contact for extensions was coming back in town. I have always been a fan of long flowing hair (Blake Lively is my ultimate #WCW) and since I had recently chopped my hair after my wedding, I figured this was a great way to get a new (non-permanent) look.

Because Lisa Loves Peter Pilotto for Target

Did anyone else run out on February 9th and buy pieces from the Peter Pilotto for Target collection? I did! And I had to stop myself at the four items I got. I actually wanted more but they sold out of the dresses on my wish list. Thankfully, they have restocked and you can find most items now.

I got this blouse with the matching skirt, but wanted to style it a bit more casual for this Sunday afternoon. And can we talk about my hubby's new Ray Bans? Since I gave them to him for his b-day, I feel like I can borrow then whenever I want. Wait, isn't that how marriage works? What's mine is yours! ;)
