Rocked it & Swapped it

What's great about swapping clothes with Lisa is that we often have different ideas about how to style a piece. Typically, she adds a heel to dress it up and I gravitate towards a sneaker or sandal to keep it casual which is great because it opens our eyes to new ways to wear an outfit. 

The day Lisa wore this Banana Republic dress, her hair was all down and she decided last minute to pull one side back which added a softer element. When it was my turn, I threw on a printed fedora to increase the beach vibe and suddenly the dress worked as the perfect summer cover up.  

This is the ultimate dress, as Lisa got a GREAT deal on BISTM and it's earning a second life through our closet rotations. How often do you swap with friends?

I just love looking around on Pinterest for style inspiration. I also love seeing a great photo and imitating the look my way using items I already have in my wardrobe or doing a little shopping for items I SHOULD have in my wardrobe ;)

Because We Rode the Polar Express!

The Polar Express has been one of my favorite Christmas stories since I was little, so I was excited to experience our own version with the family. Our family took Lisa’s children aboard the train which included chocolate milk & cookies, a reading of the story, a bell (that we could all hear ring) and of course, a visit from Mr. C himself.

Because Lisa Likes to Layer/Rock & Swap

Kaitlyn owns this amazing high low hem blouse (seen in outfit post here) and when we swapped, I had no idea how I'd style it. Let's be honest, her outfit was epic! ;) I decided I'd step out of the box and wear the top as a vest layered over a dress.

I was loving these layers! This dress can be a bit dressy, but the vest dressed it down a bit. Add some killer jewelry and a 6 inch heel and call it a day! What do you think?

Rocked it & Swapped it

This skirt showed up in my "Friend Swap" bag and I was very excited. I had seen photos of Kaitlyn wearing this skirt on Facebook, but was too scared to ask to borrow it. Kaitlyn looks amazing in it! LOVE that she paired it with not only the stripe top, but also mixing the neutrals navy and black together!

So this my friends, is my first time wearing a bandage skirt. Why did I not try these sooner?! I feel like I want to own one in ever color. Seriously! I loved how the pink and blue looked together so much when Kaitlyn wore it, that I ended up pairing it with 2 different blue hues.
