Easy, Breezy, Summer Style

We've talked before about how a LWD is the quintessential summer staple dress. It's just so clean and makes you look tan no matter how long ago you applied your tanning towels (you didn't think my tan is real, did you?). What is not to love about that? 

I kept the styling super simple by adding brown wedges, a blue tote bag, round sunglasses, and a bright pink lip. Then, to beat the heat I put my hair up in a classic dutch braid. I don't think there is an easier hair style then this (especially on day three hair), so it has really been my summer go-to lately.

Flowers and Flares

This tunic is the perfect amount of color for everyday wear. I love the high-low hem, the pleat detail on the front & back, and the adorable peek-hole at the neck. Want to mix it up? So did I! Since this top is from eShakti, you have the option to custom any (or all) parts of the items you shop. I decided I wanted a shorter sleeve, so I had that shortened to a 3/4 length. I also put my height in the measurements so the length of the tunic was not too long on me. In the end I love my custom top!

When it came to styling this beauty less was more. I added a pair of my favorite flare jeans, nude heels, a gorgeous statement necklace, and a bright pink lip. As I stepped out the door, I added a bright colored clutch and oversized sunglasses. Easy everyday wear usually wins during the week at my house.

Give me All the Colors

Sometimes less is more and other times more is more. On this day I knew I would be taking photos in front of this gorgeous blue brick wall, and I wanted to pair that with color. And by color I mean lots of colors! Teal, hot pink, yellow, denim, & purple are all colors that are great for Spring..why not pair them all together? I am so glad I did as I ended up taking individual items I like, and turning them into an outfit that I love! 

Can we just take a minute and talk about this umbrella please? Brelli makes these beautiful handmade, eco-friendly umbrellas that are just as good for rain (even storms with up to 40MPH winds) as they are for sun. They provide 99% coverage from UVA/UVB/UVC rays, which for a girl who has had quite a few skin cancer scares is ideal! The sun is amazing, but being smart about skin protection is just part of healthy living. This umbrella will be by my side all summer long.

Animal Instincts

I recently wore this dress of Kaitlyn's and it was love at first site. Here's the thing though, the dress comes with this great gold cinched belt and when Kaitlyn wore it last, that's how she styled it.
I wanted to take the dress out of it's box and style it in a way that would make it look different. There is a beautiful drape detail on the top so I carried it over into the rest of the look.
I added a drape front cardigan, drape front faux leather jacket, and lots of silver jewelry that felt like it was in the "animal instincts" type category. In the end I wanted to add a pop of color so I did so in my shoes and in my clutch.

Because Lisa Attended a Baby Shower

You may remember I wore this dress to Kaitlyn's wedding shower in June but I figured if I didn't wear it again soon, I'd have to wait until next spring and the thought of this pretty number stuck in my closet that long made me sad ;)

I tried to switch it up a bit by adding brown and gold accents instead of sticking with a nude palette.

Because Lisa Loves Summer Dresses

Up until two years ago, I had never worn shorts in the summer. I think it was because I had been going through my baby making years and I wasn't comfortable with my body, but dresses were always my go-to for summer style.

In recent years, I have embraced wearing shorts but some of my favorite summer outfits still remain to be light and airy summer dresses.

Meet The Sisters behind Sisters Marie

Hello everyone, Kaitlyn and Lisa here! We are so excited to blog with you guys on two of our favorite things...Being sisters (in-law) and everything fashion.
