The Perfect Layering Piece

I am forever on the hunt for great layering pieces. They make mornings easier (hello grab and go), and can effortlessly mix and match with anything in your wardrobe. When I spotted this long hooded cardigan at J.Jill, I knew I could not only style it with active-wear, but also everyday wear. How have I never owned a piece like this? It sure seems like a wardrobe staple to me! 

 On this day, skinny jeans and a ribbed turtleneck tee were just the thing for grabbing lunch and coffee in a neighboring town. I was all too excited to add this long cardigan but wanted to give it a bit of a twist. By adding this great wrap belt I gave myself more of a defined waistline and a pop of color with the bold lip. In the end, I added leopard print wedges and suddenly the outfit had a bit of attitude (the good kind that is).

Because Lisa Hosted a Pampered Chef Event

I hosted a Pampered Chef party last week and this is what I wore:

We cooked, ate, drank, and ordered lots of new goodies for our kitchens. I had a wonderful time and I hope all who made it out did too!

Because Lisa went to the Movies

The hubbs and I loaded up the kiddos and headed for Finding Nemo at the movie theater.

Since both kids had already seen the movie it made it harder to keep them wanting to sit through the movie, but that's what popcorn and candy is for right?! ;)

Because Lisa Likes to Layer/Rock & Swap

Kaitlyn owns this amazing high low hem blouse (seen in outfit post here) and when we swapped, I had no idea how I'd style it. Let's be honest, her outfit was epic! ;) I decided I'd step out of the box and wear the top as a vest layered over a dress.

Because We Went to a Rock Show

Nothing says summer like all the outdoor festivals and "taste of's" that go on every weekend, so when we found out that my brother's band (lisa's husband) would be headlining one, we were so there. Our entire family came out and I had a life-changing ear of corn, mexican style (lime juice & cheddar cheese). For the win!
