Windy Wonderland

I've said it before and I will say it again, I am loving the beautiful season of Fall this year. The weather has been cooler lately (it is December after all... it was bound to happen), but we still had a few days before the snow where you could get away with a light jacket. On this day, it was super windy, but an utterly beautiful, sunny day. 

I decided to embrace the wind and wear something that would flow. This midi dress from J.Jill is another fast favorite. It is the most soft dress I own, making it feel like I am walking around in my PJ's (does it get any better then that?). I added a sheer plaid scarf, wrap belt, bucket bag, and wide brim hat to dress the look up a bit. To finish it off, I added my favorite faux leather jacket and a great pair of heels. Let's be honest, a great pair of heels can make me smile any day of the week.

Kimono Weather

I think we are officially transitioning into spring weather here in the Midwest. Which means it's kimono weather people! For retro lovers like myself, this is a trend that I am happy to sport because truth be told, I've been sporting them for years and now I can just stock up on my favorite styles! ;) 

On this beautiful day, it was warm enough to not wear a coat, but cool enough to want some coverage. This print kimono I picked up last summer at Anthropologie was the perfect layering piece for over my overalls. 

This was such a fun color combo to wear. I pulled in blue hues in my shoes, overalls, and kimono, and used the orange from my top to pull in brown in my necklace and bag. In the end I loved wearing this outfit and I felt sexy for wearing....well...overalls!

Repeat Offender

I just can't stop wearing this sweater vest! When I saw this beauty selling months ago, I knew it had to be in my closet. Sure, I told myself it was worth the price and I'd wear it tons, but like most faux fur pieces, I honestly figured I'd wear it (or be photographed in it) about four times this fall/winter season. That is so not the case! It really is my go-to piece in all things layering.

On this day, I had a baby shower to attend. Our unseasonably warm weather allowed me to go bare legs on this beautiful Fall day. By layering my sweater vest over a maroon fit-and-flare dress, the dress took on an entire new look.



To finish my outfit off, I went the matchy matchy route. By adding maroon colored wedges, all gold jewelry, and a brown bag, my outfit ended up dressy enough for the shower and warm enough to not wear a coat. Win win, no? Perfect...now I have time to kick and toss leaves around the backyard! Blogger gonna blog. ;)
