Rocked it & Swapped it

If you read our blog regularly, then you know we are both jumpsuit obsessed. I'm talking a year round love affair people and we are quite OK with it ;)

I found this gorgeous black and floral jumpsuit online at Piperlime last summer. The first time I styled it was for a photo shoot for Lake and Country Magazine (a publication out of Lake Geneva, WI). I decided to pull colors from it when accessorizing. I added blue in with my navy hat, black in the necklace and heels, and then tons of gold jewelry. Sometimes more is more! 

When Kaitlyn styled it, she too pulled in colors from the jumpsuit with the blue in the bag & earrings, but she also added new colors. I love how the mint & tan wedges (and the braids) made the outfit seem more playful and daytime chic.

Rocked it & Swapped it

Welcome to another edition of rock & swap where we unknowingly channeled each other's style. Lately, we have been surprised to see the photos of each other in our swapped items because they have been a true reflection of the other's personality. Take our new favorite jumpsuit as an an example...

It can be rare to see Lisa in flip flops and myself in heels but that's the beauty of switching clothes...without inspiration, we would never feel motivated to try something new and reach out of our comfort zone. Plus, most of the time, we really end up loving how the other one styled the swap. Our swaps allow us to bring new life to old clothes...we tell our husbands this helps to keep those credit card bills down, but if we're being honest, we're still always shopping for new items to swap anyway ;)

Lovely Spring we are Having this Summer...

Last week, I took my kids to see the new Disney movie, Inside Out. It was in the upper 60's and it was lunchtime! It's the middle of July here in Chicago, and it was in the upper 60's. This is not OK with me. I mean, I don't mind wearing layers, but I feel a bit gypped or I feel like my kids are as far as summer is concerned! But I digress...

When dealing with spring weather in the summer months, layers (as always) are key.



My go-to uniform this summer has been jumpsuits (OK, yes they are my go-to every summer). The last time I styled this beauty there was no need for layers, so it was fun to mix the styling up a bit.

Without much time to get ready, I went out with straight hair and minimal makeup. I added delicate gold jewelry, nude peep-toe wedges, a faux leather crop jacket, and a brown bag. The styling is super simple yet still looks put together and in the end, that's all I was going for.



This outfit was perfect for a lunch movie date followed by some mall walking and a bit of shopping. I was super comfortable and was so glad I had the jacket when I got cold in the theater.

I know we all like to poke fun at Forever 21, but I stopped in there this past week and was blown away! They really upped their game (new buyers maybe?) and with items like this jumpsuit in my current wardrobe, I will continue to pop in there and shop for great basics and rare finds!
