Rocked it & Swapped it

Graphic tees are perfect for everything from everyday wear to nights out on the town. They can be dressed up or down and everyone should have a few in their wardrobe (I know myself and Kaitlyn have quite the collection between the two of us)! Cozy and fashionable are two traits you should always look for when shopping.

This J'Adore tee from Old Navy is a perfect example of how a basic tee can be dressed up or down. It was great for a winter day in Wisconsin paired with jeans and a knit cardigan. The tee also worked well dressed up for a night in the city

Her is how we both styled the J'Adore shirt:

Rocked it & Swapped it

Everyone needs articles of clothing in their closets that will transition them through the four seasons. Being two ladies from the Midwest, owning lots of items like this is key to make the most out of our wardrobes.

This graphic tee (that we sell) is really a style staple for the both of us. It can be dressed up or down, or even layered for the cooler months in the year. We have both worn it many times on the blog, but today we'd love to show you how easy it can be to wear it at different times of the year.

Here is how we both styled our "because we blog too much" tee:

Warm Weather Graphic T Essentials:

During the summer months Lisa tucked her tee into a full skirt. This look was dressy yet playful and kept her cool in the heat.

Cool Weather Graphic T Essentials:

To keep warm in her tee, Kailtyn added a blazer, jeans, and a great knit hat. This look is perfect for the cooler months ahead of us!

Do you make the most of your wardrobe by transitioning items throughout the year? Do you own one of our graphic tees yet?

Absence for the Fashion Heart

I love re-visiting an item I haven't worn in awhile and finding a new way to enjoy it. I bought this skirt from LOFT last summer and wore it once or twice but it eventually got lost in the shuffle because I wasn't overly excited about it.

Then the other day I was looking for a skirt to wear and a light bulb went off in my head... "that floral skirt would be just right with a graphic T!" Sometimes it just takes a few months apart from a clothing item to miss it...luckily, we're back on good terms on not still maintaining "we were on a break!"

Top: Sisters Marie // Skirt: $13 in my closet NOW! // Sandals: LOFT // Necklace: Forever 21 (similar)
Sunnies: Old Navy // Clutch: Just Fab (swap w/Lisa)

Do you ever "take a break" from something in your closet?

Swap Not Shop

Whenever we ("need") a new shirt for an event or because we're tired of looking at our own wardrobes, Lisa and I text each other with, "time for a new swap?" It is so much more cost-effective to borrow a new piece of clothing from your best girlfriend or sister rather than rushing out to the mall to purchase an item you may only wear once. We also both swap quite a bit with other users on bistm which is fun a way to meet new people and update your clothes in the process.

To wear our love for swapping on our sleeve (or chest, in this case) we created another graphic T and HiCustom was perfect for customization and pricing. I loved wearing the T with jeans on a cool summer day and I know Lisa can't wait for it to show up in her swap bag ;)

Jacket: J. Crew (similar) // T: HiCustom // Jeans: LOFT // Shoes: Old Navy // Purse: Persun // Glasses: Target

And then I swapped my jean jacket for the warmth of this cute 4-legged friend...

Do you ever swap clothes with someone close to you?

Kaitlyn's Spring Wish List

Living in Chicago means we always count down to green grass and the smell of lilacs but this year, I say we deserve a Spring awakening even more. It's late March and we're expecting another round of snow this week (cue swearing and fist shaking)…with that said, all we can think about is what life used to be like without a puffy coat.

I can't wait until I can leave the house in jeans, a graphic t, a bright colored bag and a mix of cute flats/booties/sneakers.

So what's on my much anticipated Spring wish list?
