Rocked it & Swapped it: LOFT Gingham Peplum

When you put too many trends together at once, it can turn out disastrous. In this case, however, combining gingham and peplum, two of our current favorites, seemed like a match made in Heaven. This blouse with a flirty hem and button-tab sleeves feels like a great way to start a new season. It’s lightweight and feels fresh for the days that lie ahead. It's been the perfect style for me with a growing belly and just right for Spring layers. But it’s so much fun to see the outcome of another person’s vision, like the way Lisa chose to knot the side of the top and pair it with denim cut-offs, making it easily appropriate for the impending Summer months.

P.S. This fun top is on MAJOR sale...

Rocked it & Swapped it: Lace Peplum

The beauty of a peplum style is the shape accentuates the waist and gives the figure a more curvaceous, feminine look. Much like florals, navy, and mixing prints, peplum seems to be one of those trends that never goes out of style. This particular top is extra girly thanks to the high neck and lace cut-out details. I styled it this Fall with complementary Autumn colors while Lisa wore it in cooler temps and added pops of plaid and cobalt which I loved because it was so unexpected. As you see, peplum can have an understated elegance and classic vibe to it, while some peplum looks can look very edgy... there's an option for everyone!

Rocked it & Swapped it

This is one of my favorite R+S's to date because A) I had no idea we could both pull up such a bright yellow and B) Lisa makes me want to pull a Joan Jett and wear this with an edge next time it gets pulled from my closet. I first wore this to my brother's concert at House of Blues and Lisa styled the top for casual day wear -- kudos to Lisa for pairing with our current #JustFab love, the zyree booties..it automatically gives the feminine lace a masculine tone and that, I'm kind of loving ;)

The minute I spotted this shirt, I knew I had to have it but that's how I feel about most pieces from Apricot Lane -- it has quickly become one of my go-to shopping stops. I stumbled upon it while out with my Mom one night and needless to say, neither of us walked out of there empty handed.

All of the pieces are handpicked by the owner so the inventory is largely unique and I often find pieces that stand out from your general fashion and trends spotted at the mall. They upload new items to their facebook almost every day so it definitely takes some restraint on my end to now show up there every day...

Rocked it & Swapped it

White peplum is a great closet staple because it can compliment so many different things whether it's a pencil skirt, Lisa's colored pants or my favorite black leggings (thank you Express!) Not to mention it's an extremely flattering style for all body types and usually very comfortable.

This is one of our favorites from Forever 21:
