As Lisa and I continue to spend time together, our styles seem to merge more and more. She's always been a little more boho chic and I've always been more preppy but when we look at how we style our swaps, there's quite a few times where we meet in the middle.

We both ended up wearing this plaid cardigan wrap with our favorite jeans, ankle booties and a casual top. However, our individual style still shines through - My top knot kept things more proper while Lisa stuck to her roots with a wide brim hat.

When it comes to winter fashion here in the Midwest, layers are key. This winter has been particularly harsh with more subzero days then I want to count. When I came across this plaid drape front cardigan, I knew it would be a perfect addition to my ever-growing winter wardrobe. 

It's versatile enough to wear with anything from date night out to everyday wear and even paired perfectly with a moto jacket and crop boots.

Women (and men) alike are all about plaid this season and we are no exception, as some of our favorite daily accessories include plaid flats and blanket scarves. Can we talk about how handsome men are in plaid flannel (especially when paired with leather or shearling and 5 o'clock shadow..."hey girl," are you drooling yet?)

Remix: Plaid Sweater

Kaitlyn got this amazing plaid sweater from Forever 21 in early 2013 and wore it over the holidays with a top knot (tied with tulle I might add!) For whatever reason, it ended up in her Because I Shop Too Much online closet. Well, finders keeper Kaitlyn, this is still one of my favorite sweaters...you can't have it back...but it may end up in one of our next swap bags :)

I love a top that can be paired with anything from black leggings, to vegan leather shorts, or even distressed denim. So versatile and hands down one of my favorite knits to remix!

Rocked it & Swapped it

Plaid is all the rage as far as we are concerned. Each year, we both buy more and more items in this print and 2014 was no exception. 

Kaitlyn bought this amazing scarf at Old Navy and I eagerly awaited for it to turn up in a swap bag. When I wore the scarf in November, I kept the pallet all black (black flare denim, black blouse) and let the scarf and bag pop with their beautiful colors. 

Kaitlyn styled her scarf in December when she enjoyed a mother-daughter day of holiday traditions. I love that we both wore camel with it as it just makes the red pop even more!
