Rocked it & Swapped it

This is probably one of my favorite swaps to date. Kaitlyn has this amazing berry colored midi skirt she found at Target (well played Target, well played!). Sadly, it is sold out or I would have bought it the day I saw it on her. ;)

When she styled it, it was one of my favorite outfits on her. The floral blouse, the denim jacket, the crop boot, swoon. Truly styling perfection in my mind, mostly because it was not "in the box" styling for her. In my opinion, some of the best outfits happen when you go outside of your usual style zone, if you will.

To say I was excited to find this skirt in my swap bag is an understatement. When pairing this midi, I also went out of my box a bit by pairing two colors I don't generally wear. Who knew orange and berry would look so good together?

Here is how we both styled the skirt:

Rocked it & Swapped it

Stripes or plaid, distressed or dark, anything goes with a neutral base and being that we're smack dab in the middle of winter, a little variety in our clothing goes a long way. Thank God over sized clothing is acceptable these days because we could live in this Old Navy poncho all season long.

Dress it up with gold accessories (and an epic braid) like Lisa or keep it casual with combat boots and a weekend bag like myself.

Rocked it & Swapped it

When it comes to winter fashion, sometimes it's hard to find ways to stay stylish while piling on the layers. Our solution, add a great print bag. I recently got this one on Sole Society and have been wearing it non-stop. It's the perfect size for everyday wear plus I can fit my notebook and organizer in it so that's a plus. It for sure made my cold weather look pop in this outfit post.

I loaded it up for a weekend up at the lake house and Kaitlyn & I swapped it for the day while up north. When she styled it, she layered her look to perfection. I love the green, the stripe tank under, and the tribal print just made a great match.

Remix: Plaid Sweater

Kaitlyn got this amazing plaid sweater from Forever 21 in early 2013 and wore it over the holidays with a top knot (tied with tulle I might add!) For whatever reason, it ended up in her Because I Shop Too Much online closet. Well, finders keeper Kaitlyn, this is still one of my favorite sweaters...you can't have it back...but it may end up in one of our next swap bags :)

Here are a few ways I have remixed the knit in the past 2 years:
1 // 2 // 3 // 4

I love a top that can be paired with anything from black leggings, to vegan leather shorts, or even distressed denim. So versatile and hands down one of my favorite knits to remix!
