Kaitlyn's NYFW Inspiration

With all the social media buzz about New York Fashion Week, it's hard not to get excited about fall styles. Even though it's 90 degrees in Chicago, falling leaves and dew on our windows will be here before you know it so I have been spending all my Pinterest time on the company's newly launched hub for all the behind the scenes looks at NYFW.

There are so many great photos of women who dare to step outside the box, cross the line and break the rules of fashion so here are a few looks I look forward to trying this season (though most of mine will be accompanied by a Pumpkin Spice Latte...eek!)

If you weren't excited already...

What looks are you going to try? What NYFW collection is on your mind?

4th of July Style

The 4th of July Holiday is the perfect excuse to get creative with our patriotic colors. Last year, Lisa and I were obsessed with these red heart frames and lots of colorful accessories. It was one of the hottest days of the year so briaided up-do's (done by Lisa, she's awesome!) were key!

We are looking forward to enjoying some downtime with our families at the lake starting tomorrow...Here's to a few days of grilling, Shandys and life by the pier!

If you're still undecided on your 4th outfit, here's some inspiration:

Becase I Love Coral + Mint

Maybe it's because I officially have Spring fever, but I can't seem to get enough of the mint and coral color combination. I love that it's it's not exactly pink or blue...the shades are just right and they compliment each other beautifully. It makes me want to add a pair of bright white jeans and stroll along the whitewashed buildings of Santorini (hint, fiance!)

Also, I'm pretty sure I need that Kate Spade iPhone case... ;-)

Sweat in Style

I enjoy all different kinds of exercise whether it's a long morning run, basketball with the boys or boot camp with my girlfriends (okay, enjoy is a stretch on that one) and we all know we feel better when we look better...Well, working out is no exception. Here are some stylish options for sweating:

Peaked My Pinterest: Shop the look!

My Pinterest style board has been overloaded lately because I am always pinning an outfit or style I love and want to re-create. Here are a few of my recent favorites and a few ways you can copy cat along with me:

I've been loving the idea of sequin shorts and tights , so I purchased some from the Limited which I intended on wearing for NYE, but ended up going with a sequin dress (fun but safe) But Lucy Hale has inspired me to test out the shorts with a bright blazer. Perhaps for Valentine's day? :)

This may be one of my favorite outfit posts of all time. In fact, I ordered the same sweater and booties within moments of seeing this photo...I love the combination of tomboy and girly, rustic and dressy. The bag and hat pulls it together beautifully, don't you think?

I'm kind of excited that sneakers have come back with a vengeance, especially when paired with unexpected components like a blazer and soft T.  I'm not on board yet with the high tops but I LOVE these old school Nike's with a little bit of leopard flair, especially since it matches the subtle hint in her glasses.

Planning to test out any of these looks?

New Years Eve Glitz & Glitter

nye

I have always loved sequins, glitter and all things that shimmer...this even dates back all the way to the days of Lisa Frank and all her obnoxiously colorful and shiny products (remember!?)

Luckily, it has become acceptable to mix sequins into every day wear, but come New Years Eve...I like to go all out. Lisa and I will be attending the LBC show, so I thought this dress was perfect for a rock concert, especially when complimented by studded booties (swoon!)

What are you planning for your NYE look?
