It's official, we are just six days away from Spring! Now if someone would just let the weather know, we Midwest folk would love some sunshine and green grass. (You guys, it's been snowing here the last two days!) ;) Regardless of the weather, I am already plotting the seasonal rotation of my closet, which takes me about two days now that I have it down to a science. I always take care of the clothes in my closet first (dresses, tops, skirts, etc.), then my dresser drawers, and lastly my shoes...it's a process.

This outfit is a perfect example of what I will be rocking during the next few months as the weather catches up with the season. I love a classic denim skirt paired with a tank top. It's simple but seems effortless and put together, which is ideal. I added this beautiful cardigan because it is still breezy out and then my favorite faux leather jacket over that for some extra warmth. Layers really are key this time of year. To finish my outfit off I loaded up on the gold jewelry and added pops of coral in my lip color and bag.

Unlock Your Personal Style with Trunk Club

Imagine this: Your doorbell rings, you find a large box sitting on your doorstep. Upon unwrapping the elegant packaging, you find a beautiful collection of seasonally-appropriate clothes and accessories, all handpicked for you. Eyes grow wide and wonder sets in: Can this really be for me? But the real impact is made when you try on every item and realize the fit of each piece is virtually custom tailored for your body type. This, my friends, is the Trunk Club experience...

Ladies (& gents), I had been wanting to try the service for a while but always figured, I enjoy the process of shopping for and selecting my own clothes. But with my current crazy schedule and a recently cleaned out closet, I figured it was a great time to hand over the job to the pro's. On that note, the whole process starts by chatting with one of their stylists to discuss your style, preferred brands, sizes, etc. Then, before the trunk gets shipped out, you receive a preview with the opportunity to change anything out.

When the box arrived and I tried on the items, my worst fear came true: I liked almost EVERYTHING! The pieces are super high quality, putting some of my F21 pieces to horrible shame. Trying to be budget conscious (you're welcome, hubby), I picked out a few staple pieces that I know would remain timeless over the coming years and would allow me to get the most wear out of them. This process also gave me the chance to try a few different items that I wouldn’t normally pick out for myself, like this shirt for example. I probably would have seen this in a store and thought, that will be too short on me or this will not work with my chest ;) However, I ended up LOVING it and can picture myself wearing this to everything from a Summer fest to date night.

Keep in mind, if you don’t love something in your trunk or you need a different size, you have 10 days to send it back or exchange it. There are no subscription or styling fees and shipping is always free! You only pay for the items you decide to keep…but buyer beware, you will most likely want to keep it all so have your willpower in check because this isn't the most economical venture :)

Have you tried Trunk Club? What did you think of the service?

Bringing Backless Back

"'Cause I am a champion and you're gonna hear me roar louder, louder than a lion"…I can't help but feel like Ms. Perry should be providing the soundtrack for this cute little number from Topshop (via Nordstrom).

I remember finding it during the Nordstrom Annniversary sale last year…I was on the hunt for the perfect dress for my bachelorette party when I saw this bright pop of orange peeking out from in between all of hastily cast leftovers. The size on the tag read much larger than I wear but I decided I had to try it on anyway and good thing I did because somehow, it fit like glove…fashion serendipity in full force.

Dress: Topshop  // Heels: Just Fab (for sale in my closet!) // Purse: Michael Kors (swap w/Lisa) // Necklace: Forever 21

Lisa: Meet & Greet Outfit Details

I picked up this TopShop dress when I was at the Nordstrom YOUphoria event late last month. I have been waiting for our meet & greet to wear it because I thought it would be perfect with a crop boot and a blazer for a fall layered look.

Well, on this day it ended up being on the warmer side so I ditched the blazer and just went with the dress then added killer accessories to get some color into it.

Dress: TopShop via Nordstrom // Boots: c/o Sole Society // Bag: c/o Just Fab // Necklace: Charming Charlie // Cuff & Nail Ring: T+J Designs // Watch: Fossil // Chain Bracelet: House of Gemmes

I love the black & white pattern and how it serves as a great canvas to add pops of color where you want. In this case, it was in my necklace and clutch.

What do you think? Ever wear black & white and then add your color in the accessories?

Thanks to all who came out and shopped our closets!

Pinspired: Get the Look

I just love looking around on Pinterest for style inspiration. I also love seeing a great photo and imitating the look my way using items I already have in my wardrobe or doing a little shopping for items I SHOULD have in my wardrobe ;)

Here are two looks I am planning to re-create this fall for sure:

Would you wear either (or both) of these looks? Where do you get your style inspiration?

Pretty in Pink

For a girl who doesn't normally gravitate towards bright pink, I've had my eye on an awful lot of cotton candy-esque items. I've always preferred less "fluffy" colors in my wardrobe, but there's something about this  bright hue that's been making me smile - In fact, I am donning pink jeans and my neon pink purse from JustFab as I type).

Luckily, this color no longer solely represents Elle Woods or the "girl version" sports jerseys (seriously, why do we have those?)

Instead, it has become a fresh look for Spring florals and a Summer tan.
 Here's some inspiration:

Girl's Night: Jason Wu floral top, $1,755 / Reiss high waisted mini skirt / Juicy Couture shoulder bag

Festival: Gold tank top, $12 / Denim hot shorts, $15 / Kate Spade studded bag

Special Date: Alice + Olivia gathered dress / Matthew Williamson short fitted dress / Pink floral dress /    Matthew Williamson Silk Chiffon DressTopshop bodice dress /

What do you think about pink?

Because Lisa Loves Blue Hues

I've always been a big fan of blue and lately I'm loving pairing different shades of blue hues together.

Here is my recent look of blue hues:

I just got this blouse/tunic and I couldn't be more happy with it. It's a great layering piece and I love the animal print in a non-traditional color scheme.

Jacket: Pepe Jeans, Top: Lush via Nordstrom, Denim: Old Navy, Boots & Bag: C/O Just Fab, Beaded Bracelet: C/O Juicy J Jewels, Leather Charm Bracelet: C/O Novobeads, Teal Ring: Topshop, Stackable Rings: Shop Jules, Mother of Pearl Ring: C/O Willow House Jewelry, Necklace: Dots, Watch: Fossil, Lip Color: Candy Yum Yum by Mac

I think it would be super cute belted or tucked into a skirt as well, so I can't wait to style it for year-round wear!

P.S. stay tuned for this braid tutorial next week!
