Don't Hassle the Tassel | Style & Co Blouse

Not every trend catches my eye or motivates me enough to want to try it -- For example, I noticed corsets are coming back in a much more casual way than Rose in Titanic but the comfort factor definitely still looks to be missing. I've seen them layered over a t-shirt or structured white button-down and while I don't think it's unattractive, it's just not my jam due to how impractical and restricting they seem...oh, and I can only imagine my husband's reaction if I tried to layer one over a dress...pure confusion ;)

But that said, I AM definitely enjoying the tassel trend, whether it's on a woven tote or lining the edge of a blouse. I feel like they bring a little bit of party to any outfit, like this bell-sleeve top and white jeans. What started as an otherwise casual look became much more fun with the addition of these tassel earrings. They are also great for dressing up a basic ponytail...throw on your favorite lip shade, colored sunnies and I feel like it's an instant Summer hit. P.S. Some of the BaubleBar tassel earrings are now available at Target for amazing price points -- I love these!!

Lakeside Style | Striped Cabi Cardigan

I can't believe Memorial Day weekend has come and gone. From here on out, Summer always seems to fly by but for now, I am letting it all sink in because there's so much going on in our life right now. After standing up in a best friend's wedding on Saturday, the Family packed up the car and headed to the lake for a few days of R&R. Our annual Memorial Day visit typically includes many seasonal firsts: The first inaugural boat ride, the first visit to our regular ice cream shop, and the first time we fire up the s’more pit in the backyard. This time around, we added a few new activities including hitting up the driving range together (usually reserved for a boys outing but we all wanted to stay together) and a trip to the coffee shop for muffins and plant shopping. It was such a fun day and a beautiful weekend filled with sunshine.

This season also marks another exciting first, as my husband and I begin the real countdown to  welcome home the little man (just 9 weeks to go!). It will surely be a different kind of Summer than we're used to, but one with so many significant memories just waiting to be made. I am looking forward to things like our first stroller ride, first warm night on our deck together, and baby's first trip the Farmer's Market -- The lack of sleep though? Not as high on my list ;)

Style wise, there’s nothing more appropriate for a lakeside weekend than nautical stripes and the combination of white and navy so I wasted no time adding this nautical-esque Cardigan to my wardrobe. I adore the long length, especially for warm days turned into cold nights. I paired it with the softest t-shirt ever and the ankle wrap sandals for a comfortable yet put together ensemble. Cheers to new adventures this Summer, both in style and life!

P.S. I am nothing if not a repeat offender - Check out this look I styled for Memorial Day a few years ago...not to mention, I shot these photos in the same area around my house. What my neighbors must think... ;)

Hope everyone enjoyed the long holiday weekend! Xo

GloMinerals Living Color Collection

They say when you love something, let it go...which is probably what I should do in this case because I've already talked your ear off about my love for Glo Minerals products. But ladies, they just keep churning out gossip-worthy products that deserve to be shared: Most recently, their three "Living Color" collections, makeup sets designed to capture the beauty of Spring. Much like our closets, our faces could use a little freshening up after a long Winter so I was excited to try the new colors.

I chose the First Blush Collection which combines soft pinks and neutrals, perfect after a long, dark season of hibernation. I like the whole set but the cream blush and eye shadow quad are my favorites and have become daily staples in my morning routine. All of the Glo products are quality made and long lasting...I love that I come home from work and my eye shadow is still on, same goes for my lipstick after drinking refreshments. It's what we're all looking for in our makeup, right?

The collections are great because it comes with all the coordinating pieces you need to create a cohesive look AND step by step instructions of how to make it all work together. Let's be honest, not all of us are contouring, makeup wizards so some helpful tips on how to layer it all, makes things a little easier. Check out all the collections here to figure out which one will work best for you!

Tell me...What is in your makeup bag this Spring?

Happy Friday! Xo

It's official, we are just six days away from Spring! Now if someone would just let the weather know, we Midwest folk would love some sunshine and green grass. (You guys, it's been snowing here the last two days!) ;) Regardless of the weather, I am already plotting the seasonal rotation of my closet, which takes me about two days now that I have it down to a science. I always take care of the clothes in my closet first (dresses, tops, skirts, etc.), then my dresser drawers, and lastly my shoes...it's a process.

This outfit is a perfect example of what I will be rocking during the next few months as the weather catches up with the season. I love a classic denim skirt paired with a tank top. It's simple but seems effortless and put together, which is ideal. I added this beautiful cardigan because it is still breezy out and then my favorite faux leather jacket over that for some extra warmth. Layers really are key this time of year. To finish my outfit off I loaded up on the gold jewelry and added pops of coral in my lip color and bag.

Valentine's Day Makeup with GloProfessional

Valentine’s Day is coming up and maybe you have date night plans or haven't thought about it at all because your Christmas lights are still up (we just FINALLY got them down, don't judge!). Whether you love or despise the holiday, you’ve got to admit, it’s always a fun reason to get dolled up and experiment with a new style, even if you're going out with the girls.

I rounded up a few of my favorite new products which are perfect for the day of love because they allow you to create soft, romantic looks. Lisa and I continuously obsess over Glo products -- you guys know this and in our minds, great products are worth sharing over and over. Between the two of us, we pretty much own the entire line and I can say with confidence, the new additions are pure gold. Between the just released lip colors and the luxe foundation, you will be ready for transition to Spring (whenever that comes)...Goodbye dark lips and hello bright pinks!

But seriously though, this may be my favorite foundation I've ever tried. For much of my life, I didn't wear any because it always seemed so heavy and I didn't want it to clog my pores. But after you try a product like this, it would be hard to go back. The Luxe Foundation is so light and airy, so it actually feels good when you sweep it across your face and it dissolves instantly. I chose the "natural" color which is perfect for my skin tone and it just evens out my coloring or any fine lines (aka under eye bags from too much Netflix binging the night before). Plus, the Glo makeup brushes kind of put my cheap ones from Target to shame...they are super soft and I think make a big difference in applying the foundation.

You know I can't say enough complimentary things about the suede matte lip colors. I've always loved how easily the colors adhere to your lips and they are so soft, as opposed to a lot of lipsticks which just leave your lips feeling more dry. I looked it up and turns out, these are enriched with antioxidant Vitamins C and E as well as conditioning Mango Oil and Shea Butter for nourishing protection. NOW it makes sense...plus, these actually stay on through every sip of a straw and bite of a meal. TRUTH!

Have you tried the GloProfessional products?

Ring My Bell (Sleeves)

Did you hear? Sleeves with some interest are on trend in 2017. We're talking, Jerry Seinfeld's puffy shirt would not only be acceptable but welcomed. I draw the line at an excessive amount of ruffles but I am however having fun with bell sleeves.

I like the way they create a little extra movement and add a few boho vibes without feeling overwhelmingly 70's throwback. Plus, they're super comfy...so much of what we wear in the Winter feels binding because we add layer over layer so this is a nice way to be covered but still let your skin breathe. The lace detail on the edge of the sleeve pairs perfectly with the floral print and makes me slightly anxious for Spring. The countdown is on, ladies!
