Pink Blush Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale!

You guys know by now how I feel about Pink Blush. When I first started wearing maternity clothes in the beginning of my pregnancy, I thought I had stumbled upon a Mom-to-be's best kept secret with their line of on-trend bump styles. Little did I know, they were already hugely popular with so many women, not only for maternity wear and post-partum and non-pregnancy wear as well. I love everything from their maternity maxi styles to their non-maternity wrap dresses and their everyday pieces too, like this gorgeous red kimono.

I was also SUPER pumped when the Pink Blush reached out to let me know about their biggest sale of the year! They have extended it until today - Use code "CYBERMONDAY" to get an additional 40% off! I didn't buy much for myself during the after Thanksgiving sales but this was one I couldn't pass up... here's a few pieces I wanted to share them with you guys!

Look 1: Floral Sweater

Sweater weather is here! My closet is FULL of cozy knits but this is the first with a floral print (in such a soft material) and I've been wearing it non-stop. I styled it with maroon corduroy pants but I think it would look just as cute with leggings or denim and boots.

Look 2: Cut-Out Knot Top

Just in time for the colder season, this top is an absolute essential! This emerald tone top is going to be a staple in your closet all season long. With its trendy cold shoulders and unique knot detail, it's the perfect casual piece. For a great daytime look, I style this top with uneven hem denim & my favorite booties. Simple yet comfy!

Look 3: Floral Wrap Dress

I'm in love with everything floral and for me, this is a great transitional dress because it seamlessly transitions from pregnancy to motherhood (though, you don't need to be in either stage to wear it!). A floral print and sash tie detail show off your silhouette, and a v-neckline makes nursing after pregnancy easy. A great wrap dress is a wardrobe classic.

Breastfeeding in Style

Before I had the baby, my new Mom girlfriends were so helpful with offering advice on what to expect. One of them told me to stock up on nursing bras and tops because it would make breastfeeding so much more convenient, especially since it happens so often. I ordered a bra on Amazon and purchased a simple blank nursing tank thinking, I probably won't wear this often but it will be nice to have.

WRONG -- I wore that tank top multiple days a week in the beginning because not only was it easier but early on, I couldn't even fathom looking like a real human and getting ready like I normally would. I was so tired and wanted to wear whatever made my life a little simpler but let me be clear...I really disliked that tank top. It was boring, basic and not something I would ever choose to wear. I felt so blah.

Luckily as time went on, I learned that a lot of my normal, stretchy tank tops worked just as well and because they were already a part of my regular wardrobe, I felt more like myself. I also realized that there are a lot of beautiful, on-trend tops and dresses that may not be specifically designed for nursing but still allow you to do it with ease. A wrap dress is a perfect example -- I wore a lot of Pink Blush maternity styles during my pregnancy because it was some of the cutest stuff I could find and gave me the most confidence but a lot of women don't realize, their non-maternity clothes are just as gorgeous and many of them still offer the support needed when you are tending to your little one.

This maxi dress is very similar to the one I wore when I first announced my pregnancy and both of them are the most COMFORTABLE dresses I have ever put on. It is so soft, the wrap style is flattering across all body types and of course, the wrap makes it very easy to undo whenever it's feeding time. But more than anything, I love that it doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing something basic and frumpy. It's just another beautiful Fall dress and by adding a leather moto jacket and booties, it becomes much more a date night look than a day covered in spit-up look 😂

The Waiting Game | Pink Blush Dress

GUYS! Today is our DUE DATE! July 26, 2017...a date we've been saying out loud and repeating over and over in our minds for 9 months now. A date that seemed so far away, like it might take forever to arrive. I know it takes that long for the baby to grow and become healthy enough to enter the world but I also think the elongated time frame is intended to give new parents (Moms, specifically) a chance to get used to the idea of the huge life change that's about to occur. However, now that I have reached 40 weeks, I can officially say, no time will ever be long enough to realize your world is about to be turned upside down. No matter how much preparation you do or how much you talk about future plans, I don't think you can truly grasp how HUGE this is until the little person finally arrives. On one hand, I'm so ready to not be pregnant anymore (especially since I just ordered a few things from the Nordstrom sale in my normal size...here's hoping!), but on the other hand, that means I will be responsible for another HUMAN...

On that note, there have been so many feelings running rampant these days – I feel like I have been the most emotional in the third trimester, perhaps because it’s getting so close but I also feel like I have no control over it most of the time. Different reactions come in waves and I found them to be summed up beautifully by a blogger I follow:

“It could be any day now or you could keep us waiting to see your face a whole month longer. There's something so delicious and frustrating about the not knowing. My body hurts from trying to provide you comfort. A place for you to do your final growing before you're ready to join us here. I try so hard to understand what it'll be like to hold you in my arms, but I can barely imagine you. My son. Some days I feel like I know everything there is to know about you, other days you're a mystery to me kept safely under my ribs. I lie awake at night thinking about all the unknown, the fear and the excitement dancing together in a giddy show.

I watch your Daddy sleep, I think about all the things we've achieved together, all the moments I've spent laughing and crying next to him. How much I need him now more than ever. And in a moment I feel so overwhelmed with happiness that we'll share being your parent together and a quiet sadness at leaving just the two of us behind. That's where we are right now. Stuck in between. Soon you'll be here and it'll be hard to remember a time before we knew you. Soon I'll know the sweet smell of your neck, the color of your eyes, and the way your hair crumples as you sleep. Soon there will be so much new but for now there is what was, in all it's imperfect beauty.”

SHOP MY STYLE:

Next time we talk, it's possible I'll be sleep deprived and snuggling a tiny little monkey. Okay, it doesn't sound half bad, does it? ;) Also means this is possibly my last maternity post...I feel like I have been talking about bump style for so long and for the most part, it's been a fun journey. Look back on all of my maternity posts here!

Talk to you guys soon...Wish us luck! Xo

Neon Florals | Pink Blush Maternity Maxi

Today marks the official start of Summer, though having already experienced a few weeks in the 90’s, we’ve been feeling the heat in more ways than one. Combine that with the fact that I am just about 35 weeks pregnant (cue the freak out!) so I have been living for lightweight dresses like this that keep me cool. On one hand, being pregnant in the Summer is amazing because dresses are infinitely more comfortable than jeans, plus, it’s much more simple having to think about one piece of clothing vs. two.  On the other hand, it’s not as easy to spend as much time outside as I’d like to on those scorching days…typically, I would be at the lake, on the boat, our sitting on our deck during every free moment but when it’s so hot that you sweat walking to the car, AC seems like a much more pleasant option.

HOWEVER...Lately, I have been dying to sit in a pool, whether it's in ground, above ground or inflatable. I'm not picky here, friends but me and my bikini have been dreaming of floating in a large amount of water and if it was conveniently located in my backyard, even better. Apparently my husband was listening intently during my ranting sessions because a giant blow up pool showed up at our doorstep the other day and he said it was to keep his wife and baby nice and cool...I just about melted. It's the little things like this that make this experience a little easier and I am so lucky to have him by my side. P.S. Stay tuned for photo documentation of me, possibly sprawled across this guy in a kiddie pool...I have no shame.

As for this dress, the minute I put it on, I was wishing I have 10 more just like it. In the world of maternity clothes, it's the ultimate feel good outfit, not only because I would wear this kind of style on a regular basis but I also found it to be super flattering which can be hard come by during week 35. When my cousin saw me in this dress, she said, "Seriously? That's what I looked like at 4 months pregnant!" Full disclosure, that is not how I feel but nonetheless, she made me feel really good about myself. I've tried my best to eat healthy (after the first trimester, that is -- holy ice cream obsession!), fit regular walks into my schedule and keep busy around the house to stay in the best shape I can as I get close to the end so I appreciate the kind words from Family and friends. It's nice because I imagine I will also get some use out of pieces like these for weeks after the baby arrives so I feel good about building some staple Summer pieces into my maternity wardrobe.

Thanks for stopping by today! Xo

Maternity Monday: 5 Places to Shop during Pregnancy

Now that I am 5 months into my pregnancy, I have learned a few things about navigating the world of maternity clothes. I was able to get away with my regular jeans for quite a while, then a few more weeks because I started using a rubber band to keep them closed. Eventually, that was no longer an option either and I had to invest in a few pairs of maternity jeans which I was not looking forward to. Those panels could not be comfortable or flattering, right? And full disclosure, I STILL feel that way about them...some women love them but wearing a panel all the way up to bra has definitely taken some getting used to!
BUT...My advice would be not to resist before you try- I have found a few pairs that work for me and to be honest, before I became pregnant, I always thought the tight shirts with the ruching on the sides were out of date and way too "basic" for my taste. Then, out of pure curiosity, I tried one on at Old Navy and guys --  It was SO comfortable and kind of flattering so while I sat there eating my words, I invested in a few more colors and plan on enjoying them all the way to my due date. We are lucky with how far maternity clothes have come over the past few decades and there are many ways to keep feeling confident and chic through the 9 months.
Here are a few shops that have helped me feel stylish through my pregnancy so far:

1. Pink Blush

I read about Pink Blush long before I was pregnant when I saw other future Mama's wearing styling their dresses and I remember thinking how much maternity clothes have changed over the years (for the better). I made a mental note of the brand so I could re-visit when I was pregnant and now that I own a few items, I can officially say, the clothes feel just as wonderful as they look. There are so many soft, feminine styles that not only dress your growing bump, but effortlessly adjust to motherhood and beyond.

2. Destination Maternity

My Mom and I recently made our first trip here, as I had been complaining about my normal tops not fitting (holy boobs, guys!), so she insisted that I actually invest in a few maternity tops and promised we would make a fun day of it. I resisted at first, giving into the visions in my head of ill-fitting matronly tops, forcing me to succumb to the stereotype of "Mom Jeans" way too early.
Turns out, it was just the opposite and I could have spent all day there...actually, we almost did and finally forced ourselves to leave after 2.5 hours, only due to another obligation. The store's selection is just as on-trend with any other of my favorite stores, making it easy to find things that aligned with my personal style and better yet, giving me confidence that I would be able to feel (as much) like myself as possible during the next few months.

P.S. I also bought this top and I LOVE IT! It's so comfortable and such a fun saying.

3. H&M

When I first started needing maternity jeans, I borrowed a pair from my co-worker that she had saved and they are black, skinny jeans from H&M which have become my absolute favorite pair. They fit perfectly and feel the most like normal jeans. I love their overalls and basics, plus you can't beat the prices.

4. LOFT

I love LOFT year round! I started shopping here when I got my first "real" job at an insurance company and I couldn't get by with my Forever 21 wardrobe anymore and since then, it has been a go-to for well made, classic pieces I can wear year after year. I started my maternity jeans hunt here because I had some good reviews online and I have a few regular pairs from here that I really like so I waited for a sale (which is never too long) and ordered a pair of dark wash jeans with a panel. They are a skinny style and actually fit like a glove, so besides the obligatory stretchy material that goes over my belly, they look and feel like my regular jeans.

5. Old Navy

As an avid shopper here already, it was easy to make the transition to their maternity line which I consider great for your basics. In store (at least my location), there isn't a huge selection...in fact, the first time I went in, I couldn't even find it because it was all the way in back and SO small (I think I actually said out loud, "this is it?"). BUT, the good news is they have a decent selection online and you guys know there is always a sale. I like shopping for staples like the aforementioned tight, ruched shirts that are great for layering and solid/striped dresses for Summer that will be perfect under a light cardigan or jacket.
