Because Kaitlyn Went on her Honeymoon

I have been a married lady for 11 days now and I must say, it feels amazing. Our wedding was an absolute dream that I can't believe I was a part of (more on that later) and our honeymoon to Punta Cana was just the kind of post-planning vacation we needed.

Though we had ambitions of scheduling activities throughout the week, we found we were most happy when laying under a tiki hut on the beach sipping pina coladas, reading, and napping to the sound of the ocean. It was so wonderful not checking our phones or even wearing a watch...where we were, it was always 5:00 :)

Here is what I wore to one of my favorite dinners of the week
(Made just for us in a gazebo on the beach!)

Dress: Guess // Sandals: Target // Earrings: Just Fab // Bow bracelet: LOFT

Here are a few of my favorite moments from the trip:

Have you ever tried an all-inclusive resort? How was your experience?

Because Lisa Loves Swapping

As you all know by now, Kaitlyn and I swap clothes on a regular basis. I get just as excited when I find super dressy pieces as I do when I find some great basics. In this case, it was a striped tee shirt.

Here is how I styled it for an everyday look:

Tee: Swap w/ Kaitlyn, Shorts: Blank NYC, Shoes: c/o Just Fab, Bag: Nordstorm, Bracelet & Necklace: c/o Lotus Blossom Design, Chain Bracelet: T+J Designs, Watch: Fossil, Small bead bracelet: Express, Earrings: Shore

Pinspired: Work Chic

How chic is the look on the left? We would wear this outfit in a heartbeat, but would prefer to do so without breaking the bank.

Here are some great similar items on Because I shop too Much (for a fraction of the price!)

This outfit would be very easy to take from day to night. Love outfits like that! What do you think?

Guest Post: Jess & Jill

Hello, Sisters Marie readers, we're Jess & Jill - just two girls and a blog! In the spirit of BISTM, we decided to do what these ladies are known for... Rocked it and swapped it!
While we're not the same size in clothing, it doesn't mean we can't raid each other's closets for accessories! Sporting the same Burberry scarf, GUESS cuff bracelet, House of Harlow 1960 'Robyn' sunglasses, and DV by Dolce Vita 'Tarry' wedges, we created two very different looks.

For Jess's preppy look, she wore a Gap knee-length printed dress with additional jewelry from Kate Spade and Love and Pieces.

For Jill's boho look, she wore a Lucca Couture chambray romper with additional jewelry from Gap.

Rocked it & Swapped it

Kaitlyn has this beautiful peachy-coral infinity scarf from Target (similar under $20!) that she wore this past winter in an outfit post.  I was over the moon to find said scarf in my FriendSwap bag in early spring. I added it to jeans and a tee for a casual day with the family then off to the lake house.

Here is how we both styled this great scarf:

Do you prefer infinity scarves or a scarf you can wrap in various ways?
I think I can speak for both myself and Kaitlyn when I say we are infinity girls! ;)

Kaitlyn's Honeymoon Essentials

As you read this, I am currently sitting on white sand sipping perfectly concocted drinks out of a coconut with my new husband (That word will be overused in the coming weeks, but rightly so I say!)

We were counting down the days until our excursion to the Dominican but with all the last minute wedding chaos, I realized how little time I was going to have to pack so to save you from a similar predictament, here are a few lovely ideas for a beach adventure...

Guest Post: Love Zahra

Meet Zahra.
She is a beautiful blogger from the Chicago area (love fellow mommy bloggers!) and her blog Love Zahra is a mix of fashion, design, and inspiration. This is one styling mom ladies!
She has a closet most would drool over and her style sense is spot on.
Make sure you head over to her blog and follow her!

Dress: Milly for Banana Republic, Flats: Report (Nude), Necklace: J.Crew, Bag: Alexander Wang, Watch: Michele, Bracelets: Charming Charlie

"My go to dress is definitely a shift dress. It is a simple shape that can be dressed up and down. For a busy mom, it is really important that I have pieces that are easy to wear and of course, comfortable! It keeps me from giving up and throwing on the old yoga pants all weekend long. Here I've dressed down one of my favorite shift dresses for a casual weekend look."

What do you think of Zahra's weekend look?
We LOVE it!

Because Kaitlyn is Going to the Chapel...

My fiance and I have will have been engaged almost two years when we get married tomorrow and saying that it has been a whirlwind is an understatement. Even though we had a lot of time to plan, we were always busy doing something whether it was another detailed visit to the Shedd, cutting string for the invites (trust me, it made the difference), sending umpteen thank you's for our wonderful gifts, or buying our first home together!

Our families and friends have been more amazing than words can say with their support and patience and I feel lucky to be so loved.

Speaking of love, I can't wait to marry mine. He's been my best friend for 7 years...

Now it's time to make it forever.
I look forward to sharing wedding and honeymoon photos with you when I return but until then, we have some great posts planned so enjoy!

Rocked it & Swapped it

There's something about a pop of yellow that always seems to make everything just a little more joyful...whether it's accenting a classic pencil skirt and a simple gray t-shirt or another favorite bright staple, white jeans (and two different pairs of leopard shoes) ;)

This Piperlime blazer is one of those pieces that will have a place in the closet for years to come because it will never go out of style and the ways to re-mix it are endless.
Do you own a colored blazer? If not, you  may need this in your life.

Air dried hair and not makeup (other then a light lip color), check!

Here is what I wore:

Because it was Kaitlyn's Bachelorette Party

I have been excited about my bachelorette party for months and now that it has come and gone, I can say with no hesitation it was one of the best nights yet. My girlfriends and family planned an amazing night for me full of all things "Kaitlyn."

We started the day by getting our hair done at Blowtique, ate an AMAZING mexican feast at Havana (complete with mango mojitos!) and then headed out for drinks & dancing (my favorite combo). Mercer 113 is one of my new favorite places in the city...whether that's because it's a great bar or because we had an absurd amount of laughs there, I can't say ;)

All I know is I'm a lucky girl to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

Dress: Express // Clutch: Just Fab // Shoes: DSW (similar) // Bracelets: Inbar Shahak // Earrings: c/o Just Fab //
Necklace: Forever21

What would be your perfect night out with the girls?

Peaked my Pinterest: Get the Look!

I love how summer allows us to dress so effortlessly and still look chic. I spotted these classic outfits on Pinterest and decided they are perfect combinations of comfort and style. I enjoy a great t-shirt and skirt or t-shirt dress and the fact that they can be dressed up or down.

Here is the first pin that peaked my Pinterest:

Here is the second look I can't wait to recreate:

Rocked it & Swapped it

How amazing is this hat?

Kaitlyn got it for Christmas and I found myself lusting over it so I made a special request for it during one of our swaps...After not being able to STOP wearing it, I asked if we could swap for keeps (she was having a hard time giving one of my scarves back as well) so in the end, it worked out for the both of us.

Here is how we styled our Gap hat:

Do you like the wide brim style? Brings me back to my favorite fashion of the 70's a bit...

Because Lisa Saw Monsters University

I don't care how old you are, you all know you want to see Monsters University! :)

Myself and my hubby have the "excuse" that our kids wanted to see it, but honestly we were excited to go too!

Here is what we wore:

Dress: Banana Republic, Shoes: Victoria's Secret, Sunnies: Prada, Bag: Piperlime, Bracelet: House of Gemmes, Earrings: c/o Lotus Blossom Design, Watch: Fossil

Top: Banana Republic, Shorts: Gap, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Watch: Movado, Sunnies: Ray Ban

The movie was adorable, the kids had an amazing time, and we had fun too. Always a great idea to spend an afternoon acting like a kid, eating popcorn, and snuggling during the movie!

Have you seen Monsters University yet?
