Rocked it & Swapped it

Kaitlyn has this beautiful mint lace top from Loft that I found myself drooling over when she wore it on Easter. With lace and delicate items like this one, I'd never ask to borrow for fear I would snag it (or my kids would for that matter) so I was surprised and excited when I found it in my Friendswap bag in May.

To ensure I got no snags, I wore it for a kid free night with a friend and had it dry cleaned to show my appreciation! ;)

I wanted to mix up the colors a bit but I loved the hot pink with mint so much I wore hot pink lip stick!

Because the Summer Solstice was Just Fab!

You already know we're huge fans of the Just Fab brand, but when they gave us an opportunity to host a summer party at the location of our choice with a never ending guest list, we didn't waste a second. 

Lisa organized the #SummerSolstice #FabFashionNetwork event at the Vertigo Sky Lounge and it was such a great night. A beautiful evening on a Chicago roof top with fellow Fashionistas (+ our guys)...doesn't get much better than that.

Because Lisa Loves the Basics

As cliche as it is for moms to wear jeans and a tee shirt, I have to say it is (and has always been) a go-to look for me.  Of course I added my own twist by wearing a cute boho hat and breaking out the cuffed boyfriend jeans.

1. The tee was bought with a gift card that I won on the blog Coming Unstitched (thanks again, Sarah!).
I love that it's linen and pastel colors. 

2. I am beyond obsessed with this ring! I'm VERY into handmade jewelry lately because I enjoy buying an item that I know was made by someone whose path I've crossed. Maybe it's because I used to design and mass assemble jewelry for a living and I know what hard work goes into creating. But really, it's stunning and beautifully made.

White peplum is a great closet staple because it can compliment so many different things whether it's a pencil skirt, Lisa's colored pants or my favorite black leggings (thank you Express!) Not to mention it's an extremely flattering style for all body types and usually very comfortable.

Because We Went to the Shedd

Lisa and I recently visited the Shedd Aqaurium with our family - It was her first time there and I think she was just as excited as my 2 year old niece and 5 year old nephew. We knew they would love all the "Nemo" sightings and we also wanted to make them familiar with the place, as it is the venue for my upcoming wedding. I can't wait to dance with him in his handsome tux and her in her princess garb.

Can we talk about my love for this bag? It's got a nautical vibe which I'm a huge fan of  and the netural pallette makes it easy to pair with a wide variety of styles. And it's called the beachfront which just makes it 10x more amazing.

Kaitlyn has this beautiful light chambray top from H&M that she wore to her wedding hair and makeup trial last month. This type of top is great when worn alone as a shirt, but it is also really cute when worn as a light-weight coat for spring weather. 

I decided to layer it over a great maxi dress when we were shopping over Memorial Day weekend.

Because Kaitlyn Had a Bridal Shower

I recently attended my first wedding shower (#2 is in two weeks!) and I couldn't have planned a better party myself. My family and friends worked so hard to put together a wonderful day at one my favorite Italian restaurants with all the people I love the most.

There were so many personal touches including the lovely flower centerpieces (in wedding colors, royal blue and coral - thank you Lisa!) to the cupcake favors and a cheesy game minimum (Thank you!)

Because Lisa's Son Graduated

OK everyone, proud mama moment: My son graduated preschool last week and the entire family is in awe of him! 

The school had a classroom ceremony and both sets of grandparents plus myself and the hubby made it out to watch the little man get his certificate. The kids all wore hats made out of a paper bowls, plates on top of it with the year in it, and a tassel made of string...so cute.

When I saw this Target style on What I Wore, I literally went out hours later the same day to purchase it for myself. I love effortless pieces that can be dressed up or down and have worn it 3 times already. It is so comfortable and of course, fits right in with my love of stripes.

Little did I know Lisa had gone out and purchased the same dress...Should have known the maxi queen wouldn't pass on this one ;)

I love spring/summer because we try to get up to the family lake house as much as possible.
